Birding Host:  VIT Tours as a Specialist Birding Tours Company in Indonesia

An American Birders, Mr Bob Rogers and his wife Janice Rogers just have finished their birdwatching tour to Kalimantan for visiting Tanjung Puting and Kutai National park. The Leader for Kalimantan is Mr Ali Munthaha meanwhile the Leader for Sulawesi and Bali, Darwin Sumang. They flight from Jakarta to Pangkalanbun in Central Kalimantan by Trigana Air. The trip on Kalimantan continued to a flight to Palu by Sriwijaya Air on October 18th then visiting Lore Lindu National Park for 6 days birding before return to Palu on October 23rd.

On october 24th flight to Denpasar Bali for Bali Barat Birding until October  28th. Most 150 speciest of birds they have seen at that period such as an important bird Olive Flanked Whistler, purple- bearded bee eater, Great Short-wing, etc.

The Vacation Indonesia Tours organised and Guided  the Sulawesi and Halmahera Birding Tours. The participants coming from different country; USA, UK and Canada.. The trip starting point in Makassar, overnight in Pantai Gapura Hotel. This hotel is comfortable, and easy way to reach Karaenta forest for seeing the Black-ringed white eye, Sulawesi dwarf hornbill. The trip have ended in Manado and overnight in Santika Premiere Seaside Resort Manado about 45 minutes from the Manado airport.

The trip was successfully done. The Tour Leader is Peter Roberts.  The programme was visited Lore Lindu National Park, Tangkoko Nature Reserve, Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park included Dumoga, Torout, Tambun the Maleo site and Tapakolintang on the Molibagu road. After Bogani Nani then fly to Ternate for the Halmahera endemic Birds. In Halmahera we birding on Kali batu putih, Subaim rice field, and the lek of Birds of Paradise (Wallacean Standardwing on Foli).

The trip starting point in Manado then Tangkoko for a few days then flight to Palu on fist of September. Arrive in Palu then drive to Lore Lindu for about 6 days. The Vacation Indonesia again to organised and guiding the the Poland Birdwatcher Mr Marek Latkowski  man@data.pl and Honorata Skubel Wojcicka  from July 14th-19th, 2011.

This birding tours included Oloboju area where they can found the lowland forest birds such as pale headed munia, blue-tailed bee eater, sooty headed bulbul. The trip continued to Lore Lindu NP about 3 hours drive while birding on the way. In Lore Lindu they visited the Lake Tambing where they are able to see purple bearded bee eater, Caerulian cuckoo shrike, Pigmy cuckoo srike, Sulawesi woodpecker, piping crow. On the Anaso track they can see the Geomalia, one of the most targeted by birders.

After birding Lore Lindu then they go for diving at Prince John Dive Resort in Tanjung Karang, Donggala

The Guide for Lore Lindu part, Darwin Sumang meanwhile North Sulawesi is Nurlin  as the Team of Vacation Indonesia Tours. The trip for Lore Lindu started from July 8 – 11, 2011. Return to Palu and overnight, the next days July 12th, 2011 they flew to Manado via Makassar, operated flight by Lion Air. In Lore Lindu they saw such as, great shortwing, small sparrow hawk, spot tailed goshawk, piping crow, citrine canary flycather, Blue fronted flycather, island flycather, Sulawesi myzomela, Sulawesi scope owl, Sulawesi Masked owl, Cinnabar boobook, maroon backed whistler, Diabolical Nightjar, whitebelly imperial pigeon, greysided flowerpecker, fiew browed myna, hair crested myna, purple bearded bee eater, etc. arround Palu they also seen the pale headed munia, lemon belly white eye. The trip will be end on July 22nd 2011.
