Birding Period: August 6th - 24th, 2011

At a glance Birding Tours: Barnet Alan  Schlinger and his wife Lorie Ann Humphrey from Los Angeles have done the birding Tours for Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Ternate and Halmahera.  The Birding Tours was organised by VIT Tours, head office in Palu. They arrived on August 5th,  then overnight at Sheraton Bandara Jakarta. The next day on July 6th together Ali Munthaha, a VIT Tours leader for Kalimantan Parts, they flight to Pankalanbun in Central Kalimantan then directly to drive to Tanjung Putting National Park. This is the beginning of the Birding Tours then they fly to Banjarmasin, then Balikpapan for birding in Kutai National Park. On August 12th, 2011 Mr Barney and his wife met by Darwin Sumang a director of VIT Tours and also a Tour Leader for Sulawesi and Halmahera Birding Tours. They drive to Lore Lindu National Park at that day for a birding tours.On 16th Aug Darwin, Mr Barney and his wife Lorie flew to Makassar and Manado for the Tangkoko Birding Tours. On Aug 19th they flew to Ternate then directly to Sidangoli by boat. The next day visited the lek of Wallacean Standardwing in Sidangoli and saw the Satandardwing very well. From here then visited Tobelo and then to Galela  for a Molucan Scrubfowl by paddling boat in Dark time through the mangrove forest surrounding site. They saw the Molucan Scrubfowl well and On Aug 23rd, flew back to Manado then overnight at Onong Palace Resort at Tomohon. On Aug 24th, they flew to Jakarta for a flying home. Birding Period: July 14th - 19th, 2011

The Vacation Indonesia again to organised and guiding the the Poland Birdwatcher Mr Marek Latkowski  man@data.pl and Honorata Skubel Wojcicka  from July 14th - 19th, 2011.

This birding tours included Oloboju area where they can found the lowland forest birds such as pale headed munia, blue-tailed bee eater, sooty headed bulbul. The trip continued to Lore Lindu NP about 3 hours drive while birding on the way. In Lore Lindu they visited the Lake Tambing where they are able to see purple bearded bee eater, Caerulian cuckoo shrike, Pigmy cuckoo srike, Sulawesi woodpecker, piping crow. On the Anaso track they can see the Geomalia, one of the most targeted by birders.

After birding Lore Lindu then they go for diving at Prince John Dive Resort in Tanjung Karang, Donggala

Birding Period: July 8th, - July 22nd, 2011.

The Vacation Indonesia Tours as the Indonesian Birding Ground Tour Operator organised the Birding trip for the head of the UK Birdlife, Mr John Croxall and his wifefor his birding tours and he add to the Diving tours on Siladen Island-Onong Resort-North Sulawesi. The Guide for Lore Lindu part, Darwin Sumang meanwhile North Sulawesi is Nurlin  as the Team of Vacation Indonesia Tours. The trip for Lore Lindu started from July 8 - 11, 2011. Return to Palu and overnight, the next days July 12th, 2011 they flew to Manado via Makassar, operated flight by Lion Air. In Lore Lindu they saw such as, great shortwing, small sparrow hawk, spot tailed goshawk, piping crow, citrine canary flycather, Blue fronted flycather, island flycather, Sulawesi myzomela, Sulawesi scope owl, Sulawesi Masked owl, Cinnabar boobook, maroon backed whistler, Diabolical Nightjar, whitebelly imperial pigeon, greysided flowerpecker, fiew browed myna, hair crested myna, purple bearded bee eater, etc. arround Palu they also seen the pale headed munia, lemon belly white eye. The trip will be end on July 22nd 2011.

Again in June 30th - July 6th , 2011 the VIT Tours organised a birding tours for Carole Breedlove an American Birder for going to Birding on Ambon, Seram and Bali. We organised and guided Carole for this trip especially to searching the endemics birds. The trip start in Ambon then end in Bali.

Birding Period : April 18th to May 3rd, 2011

The Vacation Indonesia Tours organised  the Trip For Sulawesi and Halmahera Birding site in North of Sulawesi and Halmahera. The trip 2011 was booked by Mr Hugh Dingle (rdhdingle@ucdavis.edu) after succesfully doing the 2010 Birding Tours on Bali Barat National Park and Baluran on East Java.

The Tour Participants: Hugh Dingle, Joyce Dingle, Marcel Holyoak, Peter Armstrong and Margareth Armstrong.

Almost 70% of the Sulawesi and Halmahera endemic could be seen such as : Wallacean Standarwing, Moluccan Scrubfowl, Maleo, Sulawesi Masked Owl, Minahasa Masked Owl, Ochre-bellied Boobook, Speckled Boobook, Sulawesi Goshawk, Purple-bearded Bee-eater, Sulawesi Dwarf Kingfisher, Black-billed Kingfisher, Maroon-backed Whistler, Crimson-crowned Flowerpecker,Sulawesi Nightjar, Ivory-breasted Kingfisher, Paradise Kingfisher, etc.

Excursions Period: December 23rd-24th, 2010

The Vacation Indonesia Tours or shortened by VIT Tours (Local Event Organisers) arrange the Sulawesi Shore Excursions for Noble Caledonia group with the Clipper Odyssey Cruise Ship

In Tanjung Karang Beach Donggala, Palu and Tolitoli. We make the arrangement on behalf of Bali Discovery Tours (Mr Jack M. Daniels and Mr Dewa Adi). On Dec 7th and 8th the Bali Discovery Tours together VIT Tours prepares the Excursions in Central Sulawesi.

December 23rd, 2010 in Tanjung Karang (Prince John Dive Resort)
The main Tour Plannings are Snorkeling in Tanjung Karang Prince John Dive resort, and visit Museum Sulawesi Tengah in Palu about 45 km away from Tanjung Karang Beach. The 79 person of Noble Caledonia group depart from Tanjung Karang by 2 x 45 seater bus and 7 VIT Tours’s Guides. Arrive in Museum Sulawesi Tengah at 16:15 them the group have the traditional welcome dance called Tarian Peulu Cinde. In Museum Sulawesi Tengah the group took a chance to see the 7000 Museum collections, Demo of Traditional weaving of Sarong Donggala, Demo of making a traditional cake called Cucuru. The last afternoon activities was Traditional Communal Dance called Modero and Kakula the Traditional Music. At 17: 45 the group return to Tanjung Karang for continue sailing to Tolitoli.

December 24th, 2010 in Tolitoli
Arrive in Tolitoli on December 24th, 2010 at 09:30 AM then snorkeling in Tende Sabang Beach, at 13:15 the Clipper Odyssey achored in ToliToli harbour and have the local welcoming dance called Tari Moduai then by 23 unit Avanza/Innova Coach the group depart to Traditional House in Tolitoli.

In Traditional House or Rumah Adat Tolitoli the group enjoy the traditional music called Eyi eyi and Demo of making local Spices. After visiting Rmah Adat then by Becak (traditional transport) to Immanuel Church for enjoying the Church Choor Group Singer then at 17:45 the group Depart Tolitoli for Sandakan Malaysia. In Tolitoli we use 7 guides.

BirdLife Denmark or Dansk Ornitologisk Forening (DOF in Dannish) visited Bali and Lesser Sundas. The Vacation Indonesia Tours (VIT Tours) as the Indonesian Ground Tour Operator arranged the trip to Bali and Lesser Sundas Birding included Timor, Sumba, Flores and Komodo island. Birding on Komodo not just see the Komodo Dragon but also easy to find the yellow chrested Cockatoo. The Lesser Sundas Birding at that time we stay at the accommodations as follows: Kingfishesr Udayana Ecolodge, Jimbaran in Bali, Mama Riwu Homestay in Lewa, Hotel Elvin and Merlin in Waingapu. We use 2 hotel in Waingapu because we are the big group. Hotel Kupang Beach in Kupang, Hotel Wisma Bahagia in Soe, from here our base for Gunung Mutis Birding. It's also easy to see Timor Black pigeon site in Oenasi, just 15 minutes from Wisma Bahagia. In Flores we stay in MBC (Maria Berduka Cita) in Ruteng, Kisol we stay in Wisma Anjas, and Labuan Bajo we stay in Eco Lodge Bajo for the starting point fo visiting the Komodo Islands. The Vacation Indonesia Tours as the Indonesian Birding Ground Tour Operator organised the Birding trip for Peregrine Bird Tours Australia to Sulawesi and Halmahera. Chris Doughty (Tour Leader) and his group arrived in Manado International Airport on August 14th then stay at Hotel Santika Manado for a night. The next day drive to Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park for exploring wallacean endemics.  In Bogani Nani Wartabone NP the group have seen the birds target such as Maleo, Scally breasted Kingfisher, Purple Bearded bee eater, Purple winged Roller, Sulawesi Masked Owl, Diabolical Night Jars, etc.

The trip will visit Tangkoko, Halmahera, Lore Lindu National Park and the last days September 5th, 2010 in Palu. This day the group will fly back to Manado for flying home September 6, 2010. The Peregrine Bird Tours have done the Sulawesi Birding for the bird target are Diabolical Nightjar and Maleo meanwhile the Halmahera Birding target is the Wallacean Standardwing.

The Vacation Indonesia Tours arranged Birding Trip for Mr David Shackelford (neotropicalguide@hotmail.com) a Rockjumper Tour Leader arrived in Lore Lindu National Park (Sulawesi) on July 5th, 2010 till July 8th, 2010. for seeing the Sulawesi Birds in Lore Lindu. Fly from Palu to Bali on July 9th. On July 10 - 14 Birding on Sumba. This time only Mr David Shackelford. On July 15th - 26 Mr David Shackelford with Mr Pete Ferrera and his Doughter Gabriella Ferrera from the United States. They are interested at Indonesia Birds. In Bali we visited Bali Barat National Park for Bali Myna then Fly to Kupang (Timor Island) for  Birding On Timor include  Bipolo and Camplong. After Timor we flew to Ruteng (Flores Iskand) for birding in Kisol, Ranamese, Pocoranaka, Gololusang, Lembor and Puarlolo Forest on the way to Labuan Bajo. Lore Lindu NP-Karaenta Forest-Tangkoko Nature Reserve

Birding on Sulawesi for searching some of Indonesia Birds in the area of Anaso Track and Tambing Lake, such as Geomalia, Great Short wing, Olive Flanked Whistler, Maroon Backed and Sulphur Bellied, Sulawesi Thrush, Scally Breasted Kingfisher, Sulawesi Wood Cock, Snoring Rail, Blue Faced Rail, and Diabolical Night Jar. During on birding tour into Lore Lindu National park , Mr Kim Chuah and Ed have successfully seen an undescribed muscicapa flycatcher at Lore Lindu National Park .

Birding trip was continued to Karaenta Forest & Tangkoko Nature reserve and with luck they could see mostly key species in the park.
